The camp introduces the concepts of robotics and computer programming for students with some previous computer or  robotics experience.  Students will learn about algorithms, functions, variables, loops and conditionals using Lego Mindstorms, EV3 Scratch or Python.  They will then program a robot to perform simple missions and compete against other robots.

Back for the eleventh straight summer, LO Robotics is offering its popular "Intro to Robotics" summer camp in a residential open air classroom near Hallinan School which complies with Oregon Health Authority guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID-19.

  • Each camper will have a dedicated Lego EV3 robotics kit and MacBook Air computer for the duration of the camp.
  • Campers will have their own 35 square foot work area, and measures to maintain 6 foot distancing will be enforced.
  • Instructors will be masked, and all work surfaces will be washed down after each session.
  • The classroom is equipped with a TV monitor for instruction, overhead fan for air circulation (and overhead heaters)

Camps are designed for students entering 4th-7th grade (younger students will be considered by exception)

Camps will be offered June through August based on demand.

Camps run Monday to Friday for two hours each day, typically 10:00-12:00 and 1:00-3:00
